Effects of Cognitive Presence on Learning Satisfaction and Persistence in University Online Classes

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between cognitive presence and learning satisfaction and intention to continue learning in online classes.

Methods: In this study, data were collected from August 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021 using a structured self-reported Google questionnaire for dental hygiene students. Analysis, correlation analysis Regression analysis was performed.

Results: As a result of examining how cognitive presence affects intention to continue learning, it was found that cognitive presence had a positive effect on intention to continue learning by .586 (F=155.185, p<.001).

Conclusions: The degree of participation of college students in online classes showed that they preferred online video classes, and the higher the cognitive presence, the higher the learning satisfaction and the intention to continue learning.
